About

I’m Amash Shafi Jami, a high school student interested in software development, systems programming, and building useful tools with C++.

Most of my time goes into experimenting with code, understanding how things work beneath the surface, and turning what I learn into small, working projects. I’m particularly interested in desktop software, graphics programming, and low-level Windows development.

What I’m Working On

I’m currently learning the Win32 API and Direct2D to understand Windows application development closer to the platform itself. I want to get comfortable working with native APIs, handling windows and events, rendering graphics, and building lightweight utilities without depending on a large framework for everything.

I also work with Qt when it makes sense for the application. I’m interested in understanding the trade-offs between using a framework and building directly on the underlying platform.

This archive documents my projects, experiments, technical research, and notes along the way. Not everything here is a finished product; some things are simply experiments that taught me something worth keeping.

Technical Interests & Skills

Languages

  • C++ - my primary language; used for applications, tools, and systems-level experiments.
  • C - familiar with the fundamentals and procedural programming.
  • C# - experience with the language and its ecosystem.

Desktop Development & Graphics

  • Win32 API - learning native Windows application development.
  • Direct2D - learning hardware-accelerated 2D rendering on Windows.
  • Qt - building cross-platform desktop applications.
  • OpenGL - foundational graphics programming experience.
  • Raylib - experimenting with graphics and game development.

Databases

  • SQLite - basic database operations and local data storage.

Embedded Systems & Linux

  • Arduino - basic microcontroller projects.
  • Raspberry Pi - Linux-based projects, server administration, and self-hosted services.
  • Linux - command-line workflows, development tools, and system configuration.

Game Development

  • Unity - introductory game development and experimentation.

These reflect my current experience and learning areas, not a claim of expertise in every technology listed.

Collaboration

I’m open to collaborating on C++ projects, particularly small-to-medium-sized desktop applications, developer utilities, and practical tools. I enjoy projects where there’s something interesting to learn about the implementation, performance, or underlying system.

If you’re working on something along these lines, feel free to get in touch.
